Golden Globe-winning actor David Duchovny steps off the screen to write a debut novel about a sassy cow. He's with us.
Actor David Duchovny has a wry way of seducing audiences that slides easily to the outrageous. He was the transvestite DEA agent in "Twin Peaks." Intrepid agent Fox Mulder in The "X-Files." Over-the-top bad-boy novelist Hank Moody in "Californication." He's coming out next month with a first record. Think Wilco or R.E.M., he likes to say. And he's out right now with a first novel. A whacky, half-serious fable about a cow, a pig and a turkey looking for a better life. It's called "Holy Cow." This hour On Point: we're talking with actor, now novelist, David Duchovny.

From Tom's Reading List
Los Angeles Times: With 'Holy Cow,' David Duchovny is finally, officially a novelist [4] — "It's been on my mind forever. If you'd asked me when I was 20, 'What are you?' I would say, 'I'm a writer,' even though I had nothing to show for it. It's always been my self-identification. My father was a writer; he published his first novel when he was 73, so I guess I've beaten him by a little bit."
Variety: NBC Gives 13-Episode Order to David Duchovny Charles Manson Drama[5] — "In 'Aquarius,' Duchovny will play a Los Angeles police sergeant with a complicated personal life. In the late 1960s, he and his younger partner begin tracking a small-time criminal who specializes in luring vulnerable young women to his 'cause.' The plan is that the series will follow 'the twists and turns' of Manson's early efforts, but the horrific murder spree in August 1969 that made his name synonymous with evil will not enter the story until subsequent seasons."
Boston Globe: Actor David Duchovny visits Berklee to talk about his music[6] — "Actor David Duchovny, best known for his roles as FBI agent/conspiracist Fox Mulder on 'The X Files' and lothario/novelist Hank Moody on 'Californication,' will put his acting career on hold next year to release a double album on the Boston label ThinkSay Records. On Thursday, the actor-turned-musician, his producer, Berklee grad Colin Lee, as well as ThinkSay president Brad Davidson, spoke to a class of Berklee students about their collaborative process. 'I never expected any of this to happen,' Duchovny said to the classroom of students and photographers, 'I'm not a musician. . . . It's kind of a dream for me.’"
